Chief Executive Officer

The Role
Owing to an impending retirement, the Board of PSCU is seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO will report to the Board and will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of all operational activities of the credit union. The appointed person will provide strategic leadership to the organisation and will work closely with all stakeholders to further develop PSCU and to achieve ambitious growth targets, in accordance with the Strategic Plan. The CEO will be responsible for the implementation of policies, compliance and governance requirements relating to all of PSCU’s operations. The CEO will represent the credit union in the public domain through appropriate media channels and public events.

The Person
This role requires a focused, strategic leader who will ensure that Public Service Credit Union is optimally positioned to address the evolving needs of its members, in accordance with the organisation’s mission and values. Possessing significant insight into the opportunities and challenges within the credit union sector, the appointed person will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working within the financial services industry, 5 of which are at a senior management level. A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements (including the Credit Union Act, Consumer Protection Code, Data Protection law, and Criminal Justice Act – Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing) would be an advantage.
